Igbo face book user causes arguments after posting photos and demanding that enugu people stops eating pythons which represent an anambra person
So I found this post on Facebook by an anonymous Facebook user
Who actually believes that pythons represent a life in anambra state
And he urges Enugu people to stop eating or killing as this Python once killed would lead to the death of an anambra person.
Now this post is undeniably disturbing so it caused a lot of arguments within other users
Who actually insisted that they'd never had of such myth before
Read the post below
"Traditional Nwokedi said and warned,If Anambra people.expecially those calling themselves Christians will not stop Enugwu people from killing Anambra Python, too much people will die in Anambra ,and Anambra people will be wondering who is killing us,Abakaliki people are killing us,One Python is one persons life, the more they kill them the more you buried your love ones, stop them now now, before they kill you all,
Mr. Tony Oraeki, wrote and I added it here,an indigene of Nri, said that in respective towns, if a python enters the house of anybody; climbs on top of his bed, the owner of the house will simply collect the creature and drop it somewhere outside the compound without harming it.
If a stranger deliberately kills a python in Okija, the natives according to Ujummadu would advise such a person to give a befitting burial to the creature, and if the person refuses, he or she stands the risk of dying mysteriously within one year.
Also, in Agulu community, Anaocha local government area, the country home of the incumbent Governor Peter Obi, tortoises and crocodiles are treated as sacred by the natives of most communities in the riverine Ogbaru local government area including Obeagwe, the country home of the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Sir Victor."

Lady bathed with acid for having affair with married man
For having affairs with a married man, a young lady is currently battling to save her life

A 26-year-old lady identified as Jamila Musa, is currently fighting for her life at the hospital, after being bathed with acid in her house on Sunday, May 29.
The indigene of Edo state who works with Flour Mills of Nigeria, said she had recognized the voice of her assailant prior to being bathed in acid.
Here’s what she said below:
“A minute to 10pm on Sunday, I was sleeping in my room when I heard a knock on my door. I didn’t recognize the voice immediately but now I am sure of the voice. He said my boyfriend sent him to give me a message. My boyfriend usually sends motorcycle operators to me so I assumed he was the one that sent this one and as I was trying to open the door, he poured the acid on my face. I rushed outside, I could not shout for about five minutes but when I started shouting, my neighbours gathered and washed my face with soap; they applied honey and pap to it before rushing me to the hospital.
I suspect his wife sent someone to attack me, I did not know at first that he was married but when I realized it, I tried to cut him off. I only knew that he was married when his wife started sending me text messages, insulting and threatening me, I even told him that I was going to report her to the police but he asked me to leave her alone.
Jamila also said the police has been notified of her ordeal, and claims the hospital she was taken to (Kubwa general hospital, Abuja) abandoned her:
“I have reported to the Zuba police station and they said they will arrest my boyfriend, his wife and her brother. But this people here are not attending to me, I feel as if my condition is now worse, compared to when I came; I can no longer see well, the acid did not affect my eyeballs so I believe that when the swelling reduces, I will see again. But they are not attending to me, if they cannot treat me, they should refer me elsewhere, they should take care of me, I don’t want to lose my sight.
Look at my face, I want to recover from this, the acid did not affect my eyeball, I can see the reflection of light from the windows, I just want the swelling to go down but I feel abandoned, they treat others and abandon me, if they cannot do it, they should refer me to another hospital. This thing was not like this when I came here; I am scared; I don’t want to rot here.”
The hospital denied her accusations of abandonment through the medical director Dr. Amadu Danfulani, who said she has been undergoing treatment. Here’s what he said below:
“We have not neglected her, she is being treated; she was treated this morning and given her regular medication. She is in pains but we cannot give her an overdose of pain relief, we will till the appropriate time to give her the medication but she is in good hands and we are taking care of her.”
According to Dr Okuongghu Frank who is in charge of her case, she’s in no danger of losing her sight. Here’s what he said:
“Her fears of blindness are because of the swelling but once the swelling reduces, hopefully, she will see better. But that is not to say everything is okay because there are some follow-ups to do. She has the right to be scared but with adequate management, she will get better. Hers is different, she was not seriously burnt, it is superficial burns, her skin was not really burnt.”
One of her colleagues at work identified as Banji Johnson, said he was surprised at what she’s going through. Here’s what he said:
“We have worked together for about a year and half, she is not troublesome, never quarrels with anyone, free and extremely hard-working so we were surprised at what happened to her. We mobilized ourselves to visit her as soon as we heard the news in the office. We believe that with God, all things are possible and she will get better. We appeal to the hospital to take care of her.”
Her younger sister Hassana, said she almost didn’t recognize her when she went to see her at the hospital. Here’s what she said:
“We don’t stay together, my elder sister called me yesterday to say someone poured Jamila acid and when I came to check on her, I could not recognize her. Our father is dead but our mother is still alive and on her way here.”

Insufficient rainfall, fuel scarcity, high dollar rate, causes rise in commodities in Lagos markets
The prices of some commodities like imported rice, maize and garri, continued to rise at the Mile 12 market in Lagos during the week.
This is contained in the commodity index report provided by Novus Agro Nigeria Ltd, an agro-allied company which was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Friday.
Miss Avadoo Gaadi, an enumeration specialist with Novus Agro told NAN that the increase in the prices of commodities were due to a rise in the exchange rate of the dollar, the fuel price increase and insufficient rain.
Gaadi said that traders were selling off the old stock of commodities at higher prices, because the demand for the available stock was high.
“Basically, the present commodity prices have been influenced by some factors such as the exchange rate of the dollar and logistics constraints caused by the fuel scarcity.
“Bringing in imported rice and the cost of transportation from the ports to the markets have also contributed to the increase in the prices of a lot of commodity prices in the market.
“Palm oil production is now very expensive and it is used for garri production, and as a result, the price of garri has increased. There are no rains and so there is scarcity of garri in the market.
“Maize is not really in the market because of the lack of rain. Traders are selling off old stock at higher prices basically, “ Gaadi said.
She said that the prices of commodities have been on the increase since the beginning of the year, due to a totality of these factors.
NAN reports that the price of a 50 kg bag of imported rice now sells for N13, 500 whereas, it was sold for N13, 083 at the market last week.
The rice recorded a difference of about N417, while the paint bucket measurement selling at N1, 200 sold for N1, 130 last week.
A 100kg bag of maize also increased from N9, 000 last week to N9, 375 presently at the market, with a N375 increase; while the paint bucket measurement remained stable at N400.
The 60kg bag of garri presently selling at the market for N11, 638 was sold for N11, 533 last week, recording a difference of N105, while the paint bucket measurement remained at N510.
Meanwhile, some other commodities like groundnut (100kg), sorghum (100kg and soya beans (100kg) remained stable at N26, 000, N10, 000 and N15, 000 respectively.
A 25 litre container of Palm oil and a 100kg bag of onions also remained the same at N6, 500 and 9,500 respectively, at the market.
However, the 100kg bag of drum beans recorded a slight drop from N19, 667 as at last week, to N19, 250 currently. (NAN)

Human Trafficking: 22-year-old lady forced into prostitution says she slept with over 400 men in 5 months
Three young ladies who were tricked from their village and lured into prostitution by their elder sister have been rescued.
Love who was rescued from the brothel, said she and her 23-year-old sister, Happiness, were lured into prostitution by their eldest sister, Mary, 32, who had also allegedly tricked a cousin, Joy Lawrence, 25, into coming to stay with her from their home town in Ogoja, Cross River State, with the promise of good jobs and a chance to make a decent living.
But by the time they came to meet up with their big sister, they discovered that they had been trapped.
It was gathered that the cousin, Lawrence and another victim, had fled the brothel when they could no longer bear the pain they were subjected to.
Lawrence managed to get someone who brought her to the Lagos Zonal Headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), whose officers stormed the brothel and rescued other victims.
The evil sister, Mary, as well as the owner of the hotel, Rose Akpojaro, an indigene of Warri, Delta State, were arrested.
Narrating her ordeal, Love said the prostitutes charged between N500 and N700 per round of sex, paid N200 per day for hotel rates.
“I was learning tailoring in the village. My sister told me she could help me get a job in Lagos; she didn’t tell me that it was prostitution I was coming to do. After we got to Lagos, she said we should do this (prostitution) job so we can make money to be able to finish my craft as a tailor.
I sleep with about four men in a day and each of them pay me at least N500.”
Happiness, on her part, said she was not aware she had been trafficked until she arrived in Lagos and was introduced to prostitution.
“I didn’t go to school and I have not learnt any trade. I came to Lagos a few months ago. My sister didn’t tell me this was what I was coming to do in Lagos. She said it was a good job.”
Lawrence who fled the hotel, said she was told she would be trading when she left their hometown.
“I ran away because I didn’t like the work. I don’t want to do it again. I never knew this was the job
The prime suspect, Mary, said she did not want to bring her relatives into the prostitution trade but when they kept putting pressure on her to bring them to Lagos, she bowed to their demands.
“I came to Lagos with a friend in 2014 and my friend introduced me to this job. We were first using a hotel called Happiness Hotel before we moved to Morning Star Hotel in Sango Ota.
When I travelled to the village, my sisters started disturbing me that they wanted to follow me to Lagos to go and work.
When they continued to disturb me, I decided to take them with me; but I didn’t tell them I was into prostitution. I told my mother I was working in a beer parlour.
Each of us makes N2,500 to N3,000 daily. We sleep with an average of three to four men and they pay between N500 and N700. I have already saved N340,000 for them since January till we were arrested on May 16.”
The Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, Musa Maza, who handed over the victims to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and other related matters, said the suspects would be prosecuted at the end of investigations.
“This is a human trafficking case in the form of enslavement and prostitution. The victims were forced into sex against their wish. Two of them actually escaped.
The whereabouts of one is unknown, but the second victim contacted someone who brought her to the immigration office."
Man threatens to divorce wife for addiction to Telemundo, Zeeworld
Abuja – A Pediatrician based in Abuja, Mr Chibuzor Eze has threatened to divorce his wife of so many years for her addiction to popular foreign soap operas, Telemundo and Zeeworld.
“I will divorce my wife if she doesn’t stop with this Zeeworld and Telemundo obsession,” Eze said on Thursday in Abuja.
Eze, who works with one of the government hospitals in Abuja, said he had informed his wife, Dorothy a week ago that her obsession to the popular soaps was interfering with her marital life.
“I told her last week that I was fed up with how her obsession with these channels was making her to neglect her duty as a wife and mother.
“Yet she keeps watching these shows when she’s supposed to be partaking in more important things like taking care of the children and cooking reasonable food for us,” Eze said.
The pediatrician said he had to buy food from restaurants four times last week, as his wife had either forgotten to prepare food for the family or burnt the food she was preparing because she was watching Zeeworld and Telemundo.
“Tell me, is this not enough to sue for divorce.
“As a doctor, I have a very hectic job and should come home to a tasty hot meal.
“I have purchased foods from restaurants four times in the last week, because I came home to an empty pot or burnt food and this is unacceptable.’’ he said.
According to him, this is after I talked and complained to her about the effect Zee world and Telemundo are having on her.
“On Tuesday, she forgot to pick our 10-year-old daughter from school because she was watching her shows.
“If these careless acts continue, I will be forced to leave her, because I won’t appreciate coming home to a burnt down house one day.’’
