" We have won! I am more than thankful for the outcome of this case. I have spent the last 2 years trying to prove to my fellow Nigerians that I was not the man that they imagined me to be; prove that I was targeted and wrongly accused; and prove that I was not morally corrupt or disinterested in the affairs of my people. I have spent a lot of time in the last few years proving myself—not anymore.
Today, I stand here a free man. This ruling has given me an opportunity to continue to work in support of all Nigerians freely and honestly. I spent 23 years in
the Navy where I lived by these Three principles: honor, courage, and commitment to duty. This is the way in which I have always carried out my responsibilities—during Admiral Nyako's administration and currently, as a Senator representing Adamawa Central.
It has been a long journey, but I am undoubtedly grateful for the outpouring of support that I have been receiving from you all. A lot of you continued to support me unfailingly throughout the trial, thank you.
This experience has been humbling and I promise you that I will continue to work in your favor and continue to represent the most honest form of leadership necessary to uplift and encourage you all. #SenatorNyako"
