Rescued Chibok girl’s mother gave her a very big hug, but how does she react?

– Young girl says mother should stop crying

– Explains that she never expected to see her mother again

– Ascribes her rescue to the will of God for their family

Amina Ali, the Chibok girl who was rescued by the Civilian Joint Task Force and the Nigerian military has said some sweet things to her mother.

The entire nation was thrown into jubilation, early Wednesday, May 18, when news broke that Amina, one of the over 200 secondary school girls who went missing over two years ago, had been rescued.

Reports say she was rescued alongside a Boko Haram member who claimed to be her husband.

And after her rescue and eventual reunion with her mother, BBC Africa reports that the woman could not hold her emotions as she gave her daughter the biggest hug ever.

But, Amina, who is now a nursing mother, asked the mother to take it easy and thank God for her safe return instead.

Here is what transpired when she was taken home by vigilante leader, Aboku Gaji:

“When we arrived at the house, the door was closed, I asked the mother to come and identify someone, the moment she saw her, she shouted her name Amina, Amina!

“She gave her the biggest hug ever, as if they were going to roll on the ground, we had to stabilise them.

“The mother called other relatives to come out and see what was happening.

“The girl started comforting the mother, saying, ‘Please mum, take it easy, relax, I never thought I would ever see you again, wipe your tears. God has made it possible for us to see each other again’.

“That’s what this girl, Amina kept telling her mother.”

Meanwhile, Oby Ezekwesili, convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group has expressed her gratitude to God and the officers who worked really hard to rescue the girl.

While reacting to the news on the social media, Ezekwesili prayed that others would be found and rescued the same way Amina was found and reunited with her family.
