Abuja – Rev. Sunday Folayan, the President of Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), has awarded Galaxy Backbone Ltd. the Best .ng ccTLD Registrar in Nigeria at the 2016 .ng Web Awards.
NIRA is the manager of the country’s Internet real estate.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by Mr Franklyn Ginger-Eke, Manager, Stakeholder Management Galaxy Backbone.
Ginger-Eke said that the NIRA President’s award is given to organisations and individuals for their commitment to the development of the ICT industry in Nigeria.
He said that Galaxy Backbone received the special recognition award for its contributions to the growth of the .ng domain name ecosystem.
“According to NIRA, “the strategic position taken by Galaxy Backbone to register and use the .ng domain name, demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to relate with the .ng online identity of Nigerians, Nigerian businesses, local content and culture.
“This is key to doing business within and outside Nigeria and this qualifies Galaxy Backbone Ltd. as an invaluable asset in this our historic celebration of the .ng online identity, excellence and creativity,” Ginger-Eke said.
