Petroleum minister lists 13 answers to all fuel subsidy removal questions (photo)


Dr Ibe Kachikwu has tried to share more lights in the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.

The subsidy was removed on Wednesday, May 11 following a meeting between the minister of state for petroleum and stakeholders of the petroleum industry.

Kachiku said the decision to remove subsidy and deregulate the sector was born out of necessity. He said the removal would open the market and solve the problem of scarcity.

The minister shared a list of possibly 13 questions Nigerians may be interested in asking concerning the benefit of the removal.

He said the removal will positively affect the economy as it will allow government focus on other sectors like power generation and security.

The list also revealed that there was no provision for fuel subsidy in the 2016 budget.
