Ooni of Ife and Ara
Celebrated Nigerian talking drum music artist Aralola Olamuyiwa, popularly known as Ara was over the weekend appointed as the Cultural ambassador of the Ife kingdom by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
Ara, who has been well known for her unique musical skills for over 25-years, was recognized by due to her cultural contribution to Ile-Ife and the Yoruba land as a whole. She is expected to serve as a promoter and preserver of the ‘Talking Drum’ for future generations
In appreciation to the Ooni of Ife, Ara through her Facebook account said: “With deepest appreciation to my lord, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi for appointing me cultural ambassador of his kingdom, words fail me and I cannot thank you enough sir. This is all the encouragement i need to remain steadfast and continue to promote our culture i promise to make you even more proud, the entire Yoruba race and Nigeria.
