5 times Kiss Daniels album launch would have been a flop

Fast rising Nigerian music star, Kiss Daniels have proved to his fans that he is not just the man who stays to record music in the studio but a young talented man who understands his crafts.

On Sunday, May 15, Kiss Daniels staged his debut album launch ‘New Era’ at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The show was not only attended by top Nigerian music stars but was crowded by his fans.

Celebrities in attendance includes, Nollywood actress Ebube Nwagbo, Juliet Ibrahim, music stars such as 2baba and wife Annie Idibia, 9ice and baby mama, Vector, Skales, Reekado Banks, Olu Maintain, Jaywon, Ycee, Dremo, Mayorkun, comedians Ayo Makun (AY), Seyi Law, Yaw, Pencil, Funny Bone, Akpororo among others.

The show which was slated to have commenced around 6pm did not begin until around 9pm which already got some of those in attendance angry and the whole show was beginning to look like it would be flop.

However, NAIJ.COM who was present at the event gathered how Kiss Daniels album launch would have been a flop:

1. Poor musical performances:

This happened at the beginning of the show before popular Nigerian music artists mounted the stage to thrill the audience. The act of not mixing both new and top music artists would have killed the show because almost everyone was bored except for some of the fresh talents that were able to wow everyone.

2. Low turnout of guests:

At about 10:30pm, the hall was yet to be filled up with guests leaving the whole hall scanty. For a maiden edition and the kind of fan base Kiss Daniels has commanded between 2014 till date, no one would have expected that a 6pm show would not have had everyone seated at that time of the night but at the end the hall could not accommodate everyone.

3. Disorganization:

When planning any event, organization or team work is very key. Disorganization occurred with the sitting arrangement as well as the passes into the hall. There was a mix up with the media passes as some were not allowed into the hall until much later when the show has gone half way. It was also noticed that comedians did not perform as they have initially planned but they were called to perform as they arrived the venue. However, each one of them was able to thrill the audience.

Nigerian celebrities shunned the events?

This is arguable as 90per cent of Nollywood actors and actresses were absent at the album which is unusual because they love to attend musical shows. Their gap was immediately filled with the huge turnout of musicians and comedians at the show.

Guests threatened to leave the show:

A show would never be complete without the presence of your audience. Due to the fact that the show started late and people were not getting the vibe they wanted at that point in time some of the guests left while others who were true fans of the Kiss Daniels awaited until the whole hall was lively and everyone were on their feet dancing.

As much as this factors mentioned above would have ruined the maiden edition of Kiss Daniels New Era album launch, the star and his management were able to cover all the lapses as the man of the moment, Kiss Daniels thrilled his audience with a lovely life-band performance alongside 2baba ad 9ice.
